GESC
1 - 1 DASA
The MDSL defending champions started the season with a disappointing draw against DASA. The teams lack of fitness was quite obvious as the offense struggled to gel at the right time. Numerous chances were squandered and quiet frankly the DASA keeper was on vacation for the most part of the game. DASA drew first blood with a weak goal in the first half; beating MDSL all star keeper, Alieu with a surprise shot. However, Mike Iyoha responded with a solid shot, thanks to a nice pass from Sale Danpullo Bako. GESC dominated for the most part of the game. The end result of the game is an indicator of the huge task ahead for the defending champions. Coach Raymond (who was absent for the season opener) promises to get his team mentally and physically prepared for the upcoming clash against the Chaldean Rockets.

Green Eagles defender and MDSL all star Akin Onirisan has relocated to Chicago to take care of some necessary business. He was an excellent addition to the GESC family and contributed a great deal to last season's championship run. He will be terribly missed. We wish him all the best.

SALE DANPULLO BAKO IS BACK! Yep, its hard to believe but Sale has finally signed up for the 2008 season. An unpredictable force on the field, Bako's only problem has always been his committment to the team. We are glad he has decided to sign up for this season. Welcome home Sale.

GESC signs a young promising midfield in Nasiru Kah. Nas is a great asset to the team. His strong midfield presence will definitely improve an already solid midfield. As the rookie of the team, he is getting accustomed to the hard military training regiment Coach Raymond and Lamin Fatty puts the team through on a weekly basis. Once he masters the norm, we expect to see great things from this young man. Welcome on board.
